Mike joins forces with Scotland Yard when a gang of thieves turns up in Aidensfield, apparently plotting to steal a valuable horse from local trainer Kieron Doyle. The heroic copper doggedly pursues his quarry to the detriment of his relationship with Tricia - but tragedy strikes, leaving him heartbroken.
