How to book a roaming package?

  1. First check in which tariff zone your travel destination is located and inform yourself about the conditions. If you are already in the destination country, you have automatically received an SMS.
  2. Order the suitable roaming package in the customer cockpit. The service will be available to you within minutes after ordering.
  3. Use your data package in the destination area. Once your data is used up, you can easily purchase a new package anytime through the Cockpit. You will receive an SMS notification in advance.

Dos & don’ts for data roaming

Use these tips to save mobile data abroad and make your roaming package last longer.

Do

A quick snapshot for friends and family is absolutely fine. However, for the entire photo library, you should wait for a Wi-Fi connection.

Don't

Long video calls while on the go. Do this using Wi-Fi.

Do

Save data on the go by using offline maps to navigate city streets and car routes.

Don't

Avoid streaming over mobile data. With Teleboy TV, you can download all programs in advance in Switzerland and watch them offline from anywhere later.

Do

You can stream music with less concern than videos. Occasional use shouldn't be a problem. Nonetheless, these apps also offer offline modes. It's best to download your playlists over Wi-Fi and then use them offline.

Don't

Don't upload your entire photo gallery to the cloud, while not connected to Wi-Fi.

You can easily book your next accommodation while on the go. Online searches and bookings consume only minimal data volume.

Sharing is nice. But to save data, it’s better not to share your hotspot.

In data saving mode, automatic updates and background actions are paused.

Avoid regular calls if your roaming package only includes data. For extra peace of mind, deactivate your voicemail in the cockpit before the trip and temporarily disable international calls.

You will be notified by text message and can view your usage in My Teleboy.

Can I use multiple data packages at the same time?

With Eco and Swiss, only one package can be active at a time. You can only book a new one after you have used up the previous one.

How do I book a roaming package?

You can book it in My Teleboy under Subscription → Mobile. Alternatively, you will receive a text message with instructions as soon as you are abroad.

Are calls and text messages included in data packages?

No, calls and text messages are not included in the package and will be charged separately.

Do I need a data package for abroad?

Yes, if you are surfing abroad, you need an active data package.

How can I set a cost limit for roaming?

You can set your limits in My Teleboy under Subscription > Mobile.

Can I increase the limit or remove the block?

Yes, you can adjust the limits at any time in the mobile settings in the Cockpit.

What else should I check before travelling?

Ensure that roaming is enabled on your smartphone and that your apps are not consuming unnecessary background data.
