Wealthy betting shop tycoon Alun Wilmott is shot and killed during a home invasion, leaving his wife and daughter traumatised - with large amounts of cash missing from his personal safe, it is assumed he is the unlucky victim of a burglary. Vera suspects an inside job in the shape of Alun's head of private security, Ciaran Duggan, whose history of violent crime calls his reformed character into question. Can the team find the evidence to pin the crime on their prime suspect - or are they looking in the wrong place? Brenda Blethyn stars, with guest appearances from Karl Collins, Patrick Robinson and Katy Carmichael.
