Columbo investigates a case involving argumentative radio talk show host Fielding Chase, who is accused of murder. Chase claims that as the victim was shot while speaking to him on the phone - and the shooting was recorded on his answering machine - he could not have done it. The alibi seems perfect, but will Columbo really believe Chase's version of events?
